Visual Cues for Speech Sounds

These cartoons are cute and age appropriate ways to talk to young children about speech sounds. They help a child connect between a speech sound and how to position their articulators (lips, tongue, mouth).

While you can scroll through the various sounds, please keep in mind that there is an order and rationale for teaching kids certain sounds in a specific order (such as teaching sounds in a developmental heirarchy). So, please consult your speech language pathologist before working with you child on a specific sound).

Vowels are special! Why? Because they don't always make the sound one as written. If your child is a reader, put an emphasis on the sound as spoken, not as written.
